“The Magic Dream”

The Magic Dream is a 45-minute high energy introduction to the world of opera, created by Lee Holdridge and Richard Sparks. Directed by Eli Villanueva and aimed at students in grades 2-6, this lighthearted show is a wildly imaginative and engaging celebration of Mozart’s opera, The Magic Flute. Young Pam grew up listening to The Magic Flute with her grandparents, but never understood what was happening in the story. Pam invites us to explore the opera in her creatively, re-imagined version in which she has cast her friends as the colorful characters of The Magic Flute. Together, the group of friends learn that music and your own imagination can take you anywhere.

This is a Los Angeles Opera educational outreach event designed for elementary-age students. The program is free but advanced reservations are required. For information please contact the El Camino College Ticket Office at 310-329-5345.

Child Policy: The Center for the Arts encourages families to enjoy performances together; however, in consideration of other ticket holders, unless specified, most performances are not suitable for infants and toddlers. All persons, regardless of age, must have a ticket. If you have any questions regarding this policy or the age appropriateness of a performance for your child, please contact the Ticket Office at (310) 329-5345. Please note: Children under 5 years of age will not be admitted to any El Camino College Theatre Department play or musical.

Online ticket sales end four (4) hours prior to a performance's scheduled start time.

Parking permits are required for all events at El Camino College. You may purchase a $3 daily parking permit on the day of the performance (cash only) or when you purchase your tickets. El Camino College Students that are required by class curriculum to attend a performance at Center for the Arts venues are required to complete a Student Attendance Check-Out Form (yellow form) which can be picked up in the lobby upon entering the event venue. Students must have a valid ticket to enter the venue. Completed forms can be given to an usher at the end of the event as you exit the venue.
