Yekwon Sunwoo, piano - 2017 Cliburn Gold Medalist
October 12 @ 8 p.m. | Tickets $26/$10 | Marsee Auditorium
Gold medalist of the Fifteenth Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, 28-year-old pianist Yekwon Sunwoo has been hailed for “his total command over the instrument and its expressiveness” (San Francisco Examiner). A powerful and virtuosic performer, he also, in his own words, “strives to reach for the truth and pure beauty in music,” and hopes to convey those fundamental emotions to audiences. The program will include: Ramble on Love from Der Rosenkavalier (Strauss); 4 Impromptus, D.935 (Schubert); Piano Sonata No. 3 in F minor, Op. 5 (Brahms).
