International Association of Blacks in Dance (IABD) Festival Performance

El Camino College Center for the Arts.

The International Association of Blacks in Dance (IABD) will host its 30th Annual International Conference and Festival in Los Angeles, CA from January 23 – 28, 2018. Join Dance professionals for this exciting event who represent the broadest gathering of Black Dance professionals in the US and Internationally, including agents, artistic directors, artists, choreographers, company managers, executive directors, historians, presenters, scholars, teachers, and so many others. Hosted by Lula Washington Dance Theatre and co-sponsored by the Center for the Arts at El Camino College.

Thursday, January 25, 2018: Youth dance companies from around the nation present Honoring Our Legacies, a celebration of the life of African Dance legend Baba Chuck Davis, founding artistic director of DanceAfrica. It will be a night of vibrant Modern, Jazz, Contemporary, and Traditional dance by youth ensembles fromCleveland, Ohio; Baltimore, Maryland; Detroit, Michigan; Dallas, Texas; and Los Angeles, California, including LA County High School for the Arts (LACHSA) and Lula Washington’s own high energy youth group.

Child Policy: The Center for the Arts encourages families to enjoy performances together; however, in consideration of other ticket holders, unless specified, most performances are not suitable for infants and toddlers. All persons, regardless of age, must have a ticket. If you have any questions regarding this policy or the age appropriateness of a performance for your child, please contact the Ticket Office at (310) 329-5345. Please note: Children under 5 years of age will not be admitted to any El Camino College Theatre Department play or musical.

Online ticket sales end four (4) hours prior to a performance's scheduled start time.

Parking permits are required for all events at El Camino College. You may purchase a $3 daily parking permit on the day of the performance (cash only) or when you purchase your tickets. Parking permits must be displayed on dashboard. Should you have any questions regarding parking, please contact the Ticket Office or visit our college website:  www.elcamino.edu.



 El Camino College Students that are required by class curriculum to attend a performance at Center for the Arts venues are required to complete a Student Attendance Check-Out Form (yellow form) which can be picked up in the lobby upon entering the event venue. Students must have a valid ticket to enter the venue. Completed forms can be given to an usher at the end of the event as you exit the venue.
